Knock and the door will be opened...
I love it when people lead and inspire by example.
A few weeks ago we were sitting at the table with friends and talking about the next step-- the construction. When can we get started? What’s stopping us? Well, funds of course! Our friends told us to make the plans to get it going and if the money didn’t arrive before we were ready, they would pay for the first phase--- I felt my faith growing right then and there.
We got to work doing the little we could do and then ....
We began to knock on the doors of prospective donors when another dear friend reminded us of the most important door of all… She called me specifically to tell me to not walk in fear but to take my desires to the throne. She told me that what I was asking for was the kingdom and God wanted to give it, so I should walk with confidence. Another friend called and reminded me that God doesn’t embarrass his children. Then on the phone with yet another friend she asked me, “Have you asked God for the nations? “ Hmmm, I don’t think so?
I was sharing all this with some women in the barrio over coffee and prayer, my favorite combination, and when we arrived home that same afternoon we received the email confirming that full funding was approved! Almost overnight the funds were completely raised for our building project and other donated funds could then be used in our operating budget for 2011-2012 that we now beginning to raise!
Our building project is in full swing now and we are using almost exclusively volunteer labor...makes us proud of the community and the body of Christ!
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt. 6:34 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matt. 7:7-8
